Feeling genuinely confused, frustrated and unhappy in my current sales role, and having never had a structured career plan, I felt that I needed some help to bring some clarity to my situation. I contacted a number of occupational psychologists but Emma shone out in terms of flexibility, approach and professionalism. Having also spent a number of years in managerial roles I felt her guidance would also have practical application rather than being purely theoretical which for me was important.
I had 4 appointments with Emma with each focusing on a very specific area. One of the first focused on personality type and then also work environment. It soon became clear to me that a substantial part the way I was feeling was due to my and my bosses' apparent incompatibility in these areas - it really was one of those 'light bulb' moments. Understanding this I now feel more confident and empowered to make changes to the way I approach my work, the way I fight my corner, how I communicate and make things work more for me.
Emma covers a lot ground and as the weeks move on your awareness of yourself and your situation grows. Hand on heart this was one of the most fascinating and worthwhile introspective and personal development type exercises I have ever undertaken. Work is more enjoyable and whilst it may not be a long term solution, because I have a real understanding of what I enjoy, what I'm good at, what I need in the workplace and how to work with people that have very different personalities to me, I know I can develop a more strategic approach to both my job hunting and career planning as a whole over the longer term.

“I went to see Emma as I was struggling with my working setup. I was finding it difficult working from home (which much of my job entailed), getting and understanding the balance I needed and was wondering whether I was actually doing the right thing.
I found Emma to be warm, easy to chat to and she expertly navigated me through what could be quite a complex process with so many options available. Doing this, Emma gave me the insight and confidence to make some clear (and simple!) tweaks to my setup that made a huge difference to my life whilst sparking new opportunities for the future.
I also discovered new things about myself, had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the space given to explore all sorts of ideas. I can't value Emma and the process highly enough”

"I was initially sceptical about what coaching could offer me, however having worked with Emma, I've always been impressed by her insight, breadth of knowledge and communication skills. My time with Emma has made me realise the importance of aligning my personal and career goals, and has consistently challenged me and pushed me outside of my comfort zone. I've come away from every session with improved clarity of purpose and a renewed willingness to meet career challenges.
Emma was able to gain a thorough understanding of my personality and motivating factors after only a few sessions, and has helped me to identify and act upon core development issues. As such, I have found her insight to be invaluable. I would recommend Emma to anyone looking to get more from their personal life and management career, whether they be late or early stage, settled or transitioning."
